About the course
Taxation on Services has gained increased importance in the last couple of years. The Scope of Services has been increased since its introduction in the year 1994 from 3 services to more than 100 Services.

Taxation on Services is comparatively a new area of indirect taxes. Its application raises typical problems resulting in issues as to interpretation which is more pronounced when it comes to applicability, Import & Export of Services, CENVAT Credit and Valuation of Taxable Services. Issues are also faced when one applies the law to specific Service Sectors. The ambiguities and uncertainties give rise to confusion, litigations and impact business decisions.

The Course is designed as an interactive one and the methodology will be of group discussions and case studies with focus on practical issues. Highly experienced faculty will encourage members to study the relevant provisions and debate on the applicability of provisions in various situations. The Course also includes sessions on procedural aspects and service tax audit as a value added tool for rendering service in this area.

Objective
The objective of this Course is to provide basic level knowledge of this very fast growing field of practice to enable members to appreciate the issues, learn the key provisions and obtain understanding of application of the law to practical situations.
